Recently, the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education officially announced the list of typical cases for the third national batch of “Artificial Intelligence + Higher Education” application scenarios. The case submitted by the Faculty, titled “Shishuo Large Model: AI-Empowered Innovation in Teacher Education Practice”, was successfully selected. This case has been simultaneously promoted nationwide on the Smart Education of China Platform for Higher Education, standing as an exemplary achievement in the deep integration of artificial intelligence with education and teaching.


The model adopts a “1+M+N” smart education service architecture. Leveraging over 20,000 authentic classroom teaching recordings from the university for training, it utilizes a collaborative operation of large and small models to construct an in-depth decoding and diagnostic analysis system. This system covers nine major dimensions, such as teaching modes, teacher-student interaction, and classroom management, and encompasses 38 sub-categories and 69 refined indicators. Therefore, it enables precise and panoramic analysis ranging from teachers’ macro teaching strategies to their microscopic behaviors. The model can provide guidance for the normal university students to advance their pedagogical skills as well as support for the professional development of in-service teachers. It further creates an integrated intelligent service system for the entire lifecycle of teacher development.

This achievement will provide a valuable practical example for local universities across the country, especially those normal universities, in exploring the deep integration of AI with education and teaching. It is poised to play a significant demonstrative and leading role in advancing the reform of higher education teaching.
Following the selection of “AI-Empowered Teaching and Learning - Intelligent Scenario Creation Based on the XiaoYa Platform” in the first batch and “‘AI+’ Course Resource Quality Evaluation” in the second batch, this marks the third consecutive time the Faculty has been selected as a typical case for the Ministry of Education’s “AI + Higher Education” application scenario.
This accomplishment not only represents a great recognition of the Faculty’s innovative work in education but also provides crucial demonstration and leadership for promoting higher education teaching reform and constructing new educational paradigms for the intelligent era.
Moving forward, the Faculty will take this latest selection as a new starting point. We will further deepen the strategy for digital transformation in education, accelerate the intelligent upgrading across all areas including teaching, research, and management, and dedicate ourselves to building a new AI-driven ecosystem for higher education. Our goal is to ensure technological innovation continuously injects new momentum into the high-quality development of education.
