Short Bio

Qilei Li is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China. He was born in 1994. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Queen Mary University of London in 2024, under the supervision of Prof. Shaogang (Sean) Gong FREng, and continued his research as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the SAYED Systems Group. He previously worked as a Data Scientist at Veritone, Inc., in the United Kingdom.

His research focuses on developing multimodal large models for education, privacy-preserving distributed machine learning, and domain-invariant knowledge representation across heterogeneous environments. He has led and participated in several international research projects and currently serves as an evaluator for the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) PhD Program. He is also an Associate Editor for Expert Systems (SCI-indexed).

He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and has received approximately 1,000 citations (Google Scholar), with his research outcome recognized as the ESI Highly Cited Paper for three times. His work has been published in top-tier international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Information Fusion, Pattern Recognition, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems, and Signal Processing.
